Zecmap Update Announcement

We have rolled out several major updates to Zecmap, our independently developed project aiming to become the world's first Zcash-based mapping system.

Over the past few months, we have carefully considered community feedback and implemented significant improvements to both the technical infrastructure and the overall user experience.

Redesigned Interface and Infrastructure

We completely rebuilt Zecmap's design and underlying infrastructure. Our goal was to create a faster, simpler, and more user-friendly platform. As a result, adding businesses, verifying locations, and navigating the map are now much easier.

Flexa Integration

Through our Flexa integration, Zecmap users now have access to more than 9,000 locations where they can pay with Zcash.

These locations can be explored directly through the map, and payments can be made using the ZODL wallet.

This integration represents an important step toward expanding Zcash's real-world utility.

Accept ZEC Section
We have introduced a new "Accept ZEC" section on our website.

Thanks to CipherPay integration, businesses can start accepting Zcash payments in just a few minutes.

Our goal is to increase the number of merchants accepting Zcash while making the onboarding process as simple as possible.

Communities Tab

When adding a business to Zecmap, users can now optionally select the community they belong to.

In the future, we plan to introduce community rankings and reward mechanisms to recognize and encourage contributions from different communities.

Zcash Resources

We have added links to Z.cash and ZecHub on our website, allowing users to access reliable educational resources about Zcash from a single location.

Verify Location

With the new Verify Location feature, users can confirm that they have visited a listed business.

The most recent verification date will be displayed on each business profile, helping keep the information on Zecmap accurate and up to date through community participation.

Photo Reviews

Users can now leave photo reviews after visiting a business.

Submitted reviews will be published on the business profile after going through a moderation process.

This feature allows community members to share their experiences and help others make informed decisions.

User Profiles

Zecmap now supports user profiles.

One important aspect of this feature is that the username you choose will remain yours for as long as Zecmap continues to operate. Users can upload profile pictures and add their Zcash wallet addresses to their profiles.

We also have additional plans for username-related features in future updates.

Mobile Application

Development of our iOS application has been completed and submitted for review.

Once approved, it will become available to users shortly thereafter.

What's Next?

We are currently working on the Zecmap AI Bot, which will be available across both web and mobile platforms.

The bot will allow users to ask questions about Zcash, instantly discover nearby businesses that accept ZEC based on their current location or a specified address, and receive assistance with various aspects of day-to-day Zcash usage.

The Journey Continues

We do not see Zecmap as just another mapping application.

Our goal is to bring together the tools Zcash users need in their daily lives while making Zcash more accessible and practical for everyone.

The feedback you provide, the businesses you add, and the experiences you share play an important role in the continued growth of this project.
